Alchemia Collection

The Alchemia Collection is inspired by Alchemy, a philosophical and protoscientific tradition practiced throughout Europe, Asia and North Africa. Overly ambitious in its scope, it included practices of chrysopoeia (the transmutation of base metals into noble ones), panacea (cure for all diseases), alkahest (creation of a universal solvent) and the creation of an elixir of immortality. In doing so, Alchemists developed a structure of basic laboratory techniques and methods, some of which are still used today. They continued antiquity’s belief in four elements and guarded their work in secrecy through cyphers and cryptic symbolism. The Alchemists's work was underlined by a remarkable diverse range of principles, borrowing from magic, mythology and religion. Alchemia at Paul Sarz is in turn borrowing from some of their principles, insisting on mystique, cryptic symbols and spiritual aesthetics
